9pm ÔTHE MUSIC OF HEALINGÕ / CREATIVE ARTS AWARD CONCERT
This year the festival has brought these two events together.
The ÔMusic of HealingÕ, inspired by a song of the same name
written by Tommy Sands and Pete Seeger, has been a centre point of the festival
for many years. That is why it is
so fitting this year to join this event with Ôthe Creative Arts AwardÕ which is
being awarded to Pete Seeger. Throughout the previous years of the
Northern Ireland conflict, political personalities from opposing backgrounds
have discussed current controversies in an atmosphere of Ôneighbourliness and
humanityÕ, assisted by leading musicians and artists. This year the ethos of
the event will relate to Ôthe Music of ReconciliationÕ. This fits in perfectly with the ethos
of Pete SeegerÕs life.
As usual there will be the normal surprise guest appearances but
Pete SeegerÕs grandson, Tao
Rodriguez-Seeger, will be the primary guest and will receive Ôthe Creative
Arts AwardÕ on behalf of his grandfather.
Admission: £10.00 (No bar facilities)
